Wakayama Farm is a three-generation farm with about 24 hectares of land in northern Utsunomiya, set against the Nikko mountains. For more than a century, guided by the belief that "agriculture begins with cultivating the soil," we have grown bamboo shoots and chestnuts using natural, circular farming methods.
After generations of working with bamboo and cultivating the soil, the family witnessed a time when bamboo gradually fell out of everyday use, leaving the farm with a distinctive landscape that had become increasingly rare.
The bamboo forest has since been used as a filming location for numerous productions, attracting attention and inspiring the family to open it to the public so that more people can experience bamboo up close.
Step into the bamboo forest, surrounded by sunlight filtering through the bamboo and the rustling of leaves, and leave everyday life behind as you enjoy the tranquility.
