Access
Bamboo Forest at Wakayama Farm is in Utsunomiya, Tochigi, about 1 hour 30 minutes by car from central Tokyo.
By train, the Shinkansen (bullet train) from Tokyo Station to Utsunomiya Station takes about 50 minutes.
From Utsunomiya Station, it's about 24 minutes by bus plus a 5-minute walk, or about 20 minutes by taxi.

Exit the Tohoku Expressway / Nikko Utsunomiya Road at Utsunomiya IC

Take Nikko-kaido (Route 119) toward central Utsunomiya: 3 km, about 10 minutes
From Nikko / Utsunomiya IC
Drive on Route 119 (Nikko-kaido) toward Utsunomiya.
Pass the second traffic light after the Utsunomiya IC Entrance (宇都宮IC入口) intersection. Opposite the Live Garden pachinko parlor (on your left), turn right at the T-junction with no traffic light, marked by the Wakayama Farm sign (若竹の杜 若山農場), then continue straight for about 300 m.
From Utsunomiya City Center
Drive on Route 119 (Nikko-kaido) toward Nikko.
Pass the Agricultural Experiment Station Entrance (農業試験場入口) intersection. When you see the Live Garden pachinko parlor on your right, turn left at the T-junction with no traffic light, marked by the Wakayama Farm sign (若竹の杜 若山農場), then continue straight for about 300 m.
For Drivers of Large Buses
The road becomes very narrow if you turn at the Agricultural Experiment Station Entrance (農業試験場入口) intersection.
Please enter from the T-junction with no traffic light described above.
Large parking areas are located on both sides at the end of the two-lane road.
By public transportation
From the West Exit bus stops at JR Utsunomiya Station
Take Kanto Bus route 52, 56 or 58
10 km, about 24 minutes; get off at the 若竹の杜 若山農場 (Wakayama Farm) stop
Then walk about 400 m (about 5 minutes).
By taxi, it's about 20 minutes from the station.
